Hey guys, this is the first official post of Vet Coach!
First Post! Woo!
First off, thanks for visiting TransitionVetCoach.com! The purpose of this site is to help as many transitioning veterans as possible who need advice about how to go through the process of transitioning from active duty to the civilian sector. What I found going through the process was that there’s a lot of scattered advice out there, but there wasn’t a one-stop-shop for everything involved from preparing to transitioning out to actually going through the process.
Coming from the military, we are trained a certain way. There’s an instructional manual or SOP for everything. So, when I was getting ready to get out, I realized I didn’t know where to start because there was no guide. There were plenty of other people who had gone through it, there were plenty of non-profits ready to help, but there wasn’t a step-by-step process I could follow to get me prepared and ready to not only find a job, but establish a new phase of my professional career.
What I’m hoping to do with Vet Coach is to give back as much as I can to a community that gave me so much. The leadership lessons, the bonds formed, and the development as an individual all came from working with wonderful people while I was on active duty. The successes I had on active duty, and now, are 100% because of those I worked with and what they taught me – especially my Chief Petty Officers!
I’ll do my best to put out content in as many avenues as I can – blog articles, videos, podcasts, etc. But If there is anything I can do to help you right now, as you’re reading this, please get in touch with me at Pat@TransitionVetCoach.com.
Thanks for reading this far and I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you!
